Opportunity

We are currently welcoming applications for an Accountancy Apprenticeship scheme, with successful candidates to be on board by Summer 2026.

We are experiencing an increase in business growth and are currently welcoming applications for an Accountancy Apprenticeship scheme, with successful candidates to be on board by Summer 2026.

This exciting opportunity is aimed at school leavers and offers them the chance to earn a salary, gain hands-on experience, and work towards becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). The apprenticeship lasts five years and is an accredited work-based learning programme, which combines an honours degree from Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University – which is ranked in the top 5% of global business schools – with the globally recognised ICAS Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

The programme takes a work-based approach to learning, with the vast majority of the first three years spent in the workplace. Teaching takes place mostly online with some in-person classes in Edinburgh.

During the apprenticeship, you will be given a structured training in bookkeeping, accountancy and taxation with all training and education costs being covered. We are a flexible employer, with a working week of 32.5 hours and will offer a salary in excess of the UK’s National Minimum Wage for apprenticeships.

What we're looking for

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are self-starters with a keen interest in pursuing a career in accountancy.
  • Have strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Are eager to learn and adapt in a dynamic, digital-first accountancy practice.
  • Meet the entry requirements for the ICAS Graduate Apprenticeship programme (typically 4 Highers at grade B or above, or equivalent qualifications). We will consider candidates who have not yet achieved the entry requirements, however, expect to do so by the end of the current academic year.

How to Apply

To apply, please send your CV and a short covering letter outlining your interest in the ICAS Graduate Apprenticeship to enquiries@murrayhenderson.co.uk

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and may be asked to complete a short assessment.
